Gary Tilton Firefighting Training Fund ”Heroes, Legends, and Leaders” Gala is being held August 21, 2010 from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm.  This event  raises funds to assist with firefighting training in memory of Katy Fire Chief Gary Tilton and honors a person who demonstrates those same qualities of community involvement as Chief Tilton. This year’s honoree will be Ann Hodge.   

The event will be held at the Safari Texas Ranch.  Admission is $45.00 per perso, $75.00 per couple, and $350 per table.

July 4th L.D. Robinson Scholarship BBQ Brisket Benefit

Brickets available to pick up on July 3 at the Katy Mills Wal-Mart Parking Lot from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.   The scholarship was established by former students with the support of the entire Katy Community, KISD, and TEA to honor Mr. Robinson’s 44 year commitment to Texas education, including the organization of youth and community programs within Katy and Texas, and for his contributions to the FFA and agriculture science programs at the district, state, and national levels. Mr. Robinson served as FFA advisor and agriculture science teacher at Katy High School for 29 years before retiring and was the founder of the Katy I.S.D FFA Livestock Show, Rodeo, Parade and Ag Science Farm in 1943.

St. Bartholomew Bazaar this Weekend
