Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra Chamber Orchestra Concert

Responding to requests from Katy residents, the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra will hold a chamber orchestra concert on Friday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s First United Methodist Church. The chamber orchestra, consisting of strings and woodwinds, will perform a variety of works including Mozart’s Overture to the Marriage of Figaro and Haydn’s Symphony No. 82 in C major, often called the Bear Symphony. Tickets are $10 and are available online at www.fbso.org, by calling 281.276.9642, or at the door. The Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra, now in its 18th season, is under the direction of Héctor Agüero, Jr. The church is located at 20775 Kingsland Blvd., east of Westgreen Boulevard.

KVPAC Arts for All Family Festival

KVPAC ARTS for ALL! Family Festival, Peace, Love & Art, is coming!  On Saturday, March 27th, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, LaCenterra will be host to this fun family festival.

There will be music, art projects, games, prizes, refreshments, magic shows and professional theatrical entertainment to entertain you.

Katy ISD Men Who Mentor Breakfast

If you are a man who currently mentors with the Katy ISD KEYS program or if you’re a man who’s thought about becoming a mentor to a child on the brink of success but didn’t know how to start – please attend the Men Who Mentor Breakfast on Friday, March 26, 2010 from 7:30-9:00 a.m. at the Katy ISD Education Support Complex, Room 1200 (staff development entrance), 6301 South Stadium Lane.

There will be a manly breakfast along with great networking opportunities for those who do mentor and information for those who’d like to learn more about mentoring.

Fort Bend Master Gardener’s Green Thumb Seminar

St. Patrick’s Day Party and Dance

American Legion Post 164 of Katy and the Irish American Heritage Association are pleased to announce the 2nd Annual St.Patrick’s Day Party and Dance benefiting both organizations.  The event will be held on March 14th at the Katy Elks Lodge 2628, 1050 Katy Fort Bend Road.  The event will kick off at 1:00 pm and last until 5:00 pm.

In addition to the music and dancing, the IAHA and the American Legion will sponsor an Irish Soda Bread Baking contest.  Entrants will pay a $1 entry fee andprovide the judges with 2 loaves.  One will be plain – to be sliced & sampled by the judges.  The second will be shared with the guests and may be buttered.  The IAHA will provide a trophy, plates, and napkins. A photo of the winning entry will be taken for the IAHA.

Highlighting the entertainment will be the Cass Academy Irish Dancers.

Admission to this year’s event will be $10 per person, $15 per couple or $25 per family of four.  Tickets are available by calling 281-578-9417.

Cimarron Elementary’s Spring Carnival and Craft Fair

Cimarron Elementary presents “Cowboy Up!” Spring Carnival and Craft Fair.  The fair will be held Saturday, March 6th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. 

Look forward to games and prizes, delicious food, silent auction, a swing ride, a petting zoo, pony rides, Silly String Shoot Out, a mechanical bull, live entertainment, handcrafted items, and more!

It’s Rodeo Time Again in Houston

Houston Rodeo and Livestock ShowThe Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo come back to town running March 2nd and running through March 21st.  There are also events leading up to the Rodeo, beginning February 26th.

This great annual event features not only big concerts but a Downtown Rodeo Parade, PRCA rodeos, livestock exhibits, a carnival, vendor booths with arts and crafts, student art exhibits, an international wine competition, not to mention barbecue!

Lunar New Year Wonderweek at the Children’s Museum

Nickel Day in Downtown Rosenberg

Little Women the Musical at Fort Bend Theatre

Fifth Annual Girlfriend’s Giggle
