Katy Residents now have their own event for wine lovers! Save the date, Thursday, Sept. 23rd, 5:30 to 8:30, for the 1st Annual Cinco Charities Sip n Stroll. There will be over 20 wine tasting stations, restaurant and chef demos, a specialty brew sampling station, a silent auction and live music.

Villagio Town Center provides the perfect venue. Centered around a cobblestone courtyard with a picturesque fountain and clock tower, Villagio has the atmosphere of a Tuscan village. Villagio is located at the northeast corner of Westheimer Parkway and Peek Road.

Ginger Hopper, Chairperson for Cinco Charities, said, “The Sip n Stroll will be a first of its kind Katy event. We’re excited to partner with Food and Vine Time to make this event a regional favorite.”

Cinco Charities, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing temporary housing for individuals and their families who are hospitalized or receiving treatment in local medical facilities for a serious medical condition. It has been providing housing since 2008. Keller Williams Katy, also located in the Villagio Center, founded and sponsors Cinco Charities.

From July 13th – 18th, starting at 8:15 pm you can enjoy Little Shop of Horrors tells the story of Seymour, a timid and nerdy sales clerk at the seedy Mushnik’s Skid Row Florists, barely in business in lower Manhattan. He achieves fame and fortune after he discovers an exotic plant named Audrey II, a giant man-eating plant who demands to be fed. A Greek chorus of hip soul singers narrates the thriller with a score in the 1960s style of rock and roll, doo-wop, and Motown. Audrey’s appetite grows to gigantic proportions as the cast rapidly diminishes. This show promises to be an audience favorite!  (captioned performance on July 16)

Break out the tropical shirts and flip flops for this installment of Summer Sounds at LaCenterra Cinco Ranch!   From 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on July 1st, you can enjoy the sounds of Jerry Diaz & Hanna’s Reef.  Hanna’s Reef frontman and founder Jerry Diaz is a songwriter and solo performer. The son of a merchant marine (R.L. Diaz) from the coast of Venezuela, and an artist (Irene Rivera) from Mexico, Diaz has both the nautical spirit and the gypsy flair running through his veins. On July 4th at 8:30 the Houston Symphony, led by Principle Pops Conductor Michael Krajewski, presents a rousing musical salute to Independence day . Hear Tchaikovsky’s stirring 1812 Overture and a selection of American favorites followed by a fantastic fireworks display.
