Second Annual Support Our Troops Golf Gala
The Sentinels of Freedom Scholarship Foundation will host the Second Annual Support Our Troops Golf Gala on March 25th and 26th at South Shore Harbour Country Club, Resort and Conference Center. This premiere fund raising event will provide four year “life scholarships” to severely injured post 9/11 veterans.
The mission of the Sentinels of Freedom is to provide life-changing opportunities for men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who have suffered severe injuries and need the support of grateful communities to realize their goals and dreams. The four-year program offers a home and car, each adapted to any special needs, employment with appropriate training and education, and also financial and emotional mentor ship.
The event begins on Thursday, March 25th with golf registration opening at 10:00 am, followed by a parade beginning at 11:00 am. At 11:30 am, the ceremonies will begin at the Country Club featuring the RE/MAX Sky Diving Team sponsored by Al Saylor of Patriot Bank Mortgage and the Honor Guard Presentation by the 1st Cavalry Division representing Fort Hood. The tournament will begin with a Shot Gun start in scramble format at 12:00 pm. Cocktails, dinner and music will accompany the auction and awards ceremony from 5:00 to 7:30 pm at the resort. Dinner is being sponsored by Outback Steakhouse, Mark Yoder, owner.
On Friday, March 26, 2010, a Sentinels VIP Sponsor Cocktail Party will be hosted in the Paradise Reef located in the South Shore Harbour Hotel. Immediately following, The “Texas Black Tie” Sentinels of Freedom Gala will begin at 7:00 pm and will feature dinner, dancing, live auctions, and many special guests.

Junior High Master Dance Class Series at Seven Lakes
The Seven Lakes Sapphires Dance Team will be hosting a Junior High Master Class Dance Series for students in grades 6-8. Classes will be held every Wednesday from March 3 through April 14 th from 3:15-4:15 at the Seven Lakes High School Dance Gym. Students who attend are invited to perform in the Sapphires Spring Show on April 16, 2010. The cost for the dance series is $60. Heart of Katy Fun Run/Walk
On February 20th at 8:00 am CHRISTUS St. Catherine Hospital is sponsoring the Heart of Katy Fun Run/Walk. This event includes a 5K Run, 1 Mile Kids Run and a 1 Mile Family Walk. Each dollar raised will stay in our community, supporting the only Comprehensive Heart Program in Katy.
Packets can be picked up on Friday, February 19 from 12 noon to 7:00 pm at: CHRISTUS St. Catherine Hospital, 701 S. Fry Road, Katy, Texas 77450 (use fountain entrance).

Third Annual Puddle for the Duck at Katy Mills Mall
Katy Mills is pleased to host the 3rd annual PUDDLE FOR THE DUCKS, on Saturday, February 6th at 7:00 a.m. with the start and finish in front of Sun & Ski Sports. All of the event’s proceeds will benefit Ducks Unlimited, the world’s leader in wetlands conservation. Participants can choose from a 25, 37, 45 or 70 mile bike route. The registration fee is $35. Following the ride, registered riders will be offered a light lunch and the opportunity to win a bike. Cheer Clinic with Morton Ranch High School Cheerleaders
The Morton Ranch High School Cheerleaders will be having a CHEER CLINIC on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Morton Ranch High School Auxiliary Gym from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. Boys and Girls ages 4 to 14 are welcome to participate.Registration begins at 8:30am. Show-offs for parents will begin at 12:30pm. City of Katy Boot Camp will be available at Katy City Park on Tuesday and Thursdays at 6:00 – 7:00 am and 7:00 – 8:00 am. Cost is $15 per individual session or $96 per month. Registration is now open for the Winter 2010 Flag Football & Soccer leagues running January 9th through March 6th at Beck Jr. High in Cinco Ranch in Katy and Winter 2010 Basketball & Cheer leagues running January 16th through March 6th at Pattison Elementary in South Katy. New Year’s Eve Broomball with the Fellowship at Cinco Ranch

League America Holiday Sports Camp
League America will host its holiday sports Building Athletes for Life camp for students in first through eighth grade Dec. 21 – 24 and Dec. 28 – 31 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for the full-day program or 8 a.m. to noon for the half-day program. Katy Tigers Play for State Championship
This Saturday, December 19th, at 7:00 pm you will want to be at the Alamodome in San Antonio cheering on our Katy Tigers! They will playing Abilene for the Division II State Championship. Katy will be the home team on the press box side.
Presale Tickets, which are $7 for students and $12 for adults, are available at the Katy High School locations below. Please note the presale tickets are limited to 6 adults and 4 students per person.

West Houston Muscle Toys for Tots Car Show
West Houston Muscle Car Club is bringing a great holiday show to La Centerra. On Saturday, December 12th from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, come check out classic and current muscle cars while supporting a great event.
Car enthusiasts are invited to cruise these toys for big boys and girls. Guests are invited to bring new, unwrapped toys to be donated to Toys for Tots.
