Unfortunately, the groom got cold feet and called it off (only later to call it back on.) Even though I gave the owner plenty of notice, she would not return my deposit. Her explanation was that a family member stole her credit card and she didn't have the money to refund to me. Sorry, that's not my problem. Since she refused to refund my $800, the least that I can do is to warn other potential brides and mother's of the bride to keep looking for a venue. I had eaten here with some gal pals during the summer for lunch and I couldn't rave about it enough. So I suggested to my husband that we go for dinner a couple weeks ago. Not the same place at all! My husband's pork chops were pathetic (like leather) and overall he was not impressed. And like the gentleman who wrote his review before me, our meal took way too long to be served. I know gourmet food takes time to prepare, but this was unusually long. My meal (can't remember what I had - it didn't leave a lasting impression) but not on the level that the food was before. I will not go back since it's obvious that the quality may be going downhill. Oh? And the crab cakes? Way overrated. I am glad I’m not the only one who is disappointed. While I have yet to consider myself a veteran, I have been following Katy ISd for quite a few years going back to the Andy Dalton (Katy) and Quieto Teasley, Trevor Gerland (Cinco Ranch) days when the rivalry was in full effect (probably was going on before then). It's good to see when communities can be rivals on day and rally together in the playoffs. The boys will need all of Katy's support when teams start getting thin through the postseason. A couple of friends of mine took me there for my 40th birthday lunch. We were all VERY happy with our lunch choices. I had the Austin Turkey Sandwich I think it was. Smoked turked with spinach salad & hot bacon dressing. They each had chicken salad sandwiches. We all had 1/2 a sandwich with brocolli cheese soup & fresh fruit which has a side of poppyseed dressing which was delicious!! Highly recommended.
