2009 Katy Home & Garden Show
The Third Annual Katy Home & Garden Show is coming to the Leonard E. Merrell Center for all of your home remodeling, decorating, and gardening needs. Whether you are looking to remodel, decorate, or landscape your home or simply check out the latest in home improvement products, The 2009 Katy Home & Garden Show will have infinite ideas to inspire you. Also this year, OnlyKaty is proud to say the show will also be featuring our own Janine Godwin, who plans to provide a wealth of tips on cutting the clutter in your home. We truly believe this year’s show is a must-not-miss.

- “Tips for Finding Equity in Your Attic” with Dr. Lori – If one man’s trash is another man’s treasure then Dr. Lori is queen of the junk yard. As seen on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”, Dr. Lori is a nationally-known, funny art and antiques appraiser, syndicated columnist and award-winning TV personality. Come learn how you can turn some of your antique chachkis into your next home remodeling project. 50 - FREE art and antique appraisals will be offered by Dr. Lori courtesy of the Katy Home & Garden Show during each session. So, be sure to arrive early with your item to be appraised.
- The Lazy Gardener, Brenda Beust Smith – Come see “What’s Blooming in the Lazy Gardener’s Garden” and get great gardening advice gardening tips for your yard.

- Kid’s Potting Shed - Encourage your kids to exercise their green thumbs by planting their own veggies. Noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
- Go Texan Market, Food Sampling – Stroll through the Go Texan Market for samplings of jams, jellies, salsas, desserts and other tasty treats, all produced in the Lone Star State.
- “Chaos to Calm Closets” Seminar –Are you still looking for the left shoe from your favorite pair of stilettos? Is your closet a tangle of hangers? Does the thought of your mother-in-law seeing your closet cause you to break out into a sweat? Well, fear not…Certified Professional Organizer Janine Godwin is here to save the day. This seminar will give tips and organizational ideas to help you whip your closet into shape.
- “The Cool De-Cluttered Kitchen” Seminar – When the “heart of your home” is a jumbled mess, the effects can be felt throughout your life. My particular favorite section of last year’s show was the Go Texan Market, where I tried several delicious, home-inspired salsas (I brought three jars home!).
