2009 Strides for Life 5K Run and 1K Fun Walk September 12th

I read the above comments and Nicole’s sort of throws me off a little. I actually myself was a member of the pregnancy help center. I was young at the time and ended up just needing a place to go to be able to talk to someone who was a “third party” and just someone able to listen. I don’t know what I would have done without them. I met with a counselor everytime I came, her name is Tony. She helped me tremendously. Not just with helping me understand what was happening to my body but also emotionally she was there to support me and helped me with more than just what was basic. She went above and beyond and still to this day as my son is almost three I constantly think about her and am so greatful I had her in my life.

This is a wonderful cause and I will actually be running or walking haven’t decided yet in this run.

Kristi, thank you for sharing your personal experience with the pregnancy help center. I did the Strides for Life 5K on Saturday and I look forward to doing it again in the future. I support any organization that tries to make their community better through educating and supporting people who need help.

It’s unfortunate people make assumptions about this organization just because they help pregnant women who choose to have their babies instead of abortions. I know from experience, the decision between the two choices is not to be taken lightly. Having a baby is the easiest part in the whole process, knowing how to care for and raising a child is difficult for any mother at any age. I wish parents of all ages and income levels would take the time to educate themselves on the subject the moment they know they are going to have children.
