July 4th Celebrations in Katy 2008

Looking for something to do with the family on July 4th? If so, you are in luck. There are a couple of different events complete with fireworks going on around Katy for Independence Day.

July 4th Big Backyard Barbecue
LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch

The 2nd Annual July 4th Big Backyard Barbecue is back at LaCenterra. Last year’s event was a success and had a great turnout so they are back and ready to do it again. This year the event starts at 5:00pm and will be featuring live entertainment, great food, clowns for the kids and fireworks. Definitely something the whole family can enjoy. And as a bonus, this event is free and open to the public!

And while there will be drinks and food available for purchase, you are more than welcome to bring your own food, beverages, blankets or lawn chairs. The only thing not permitted is outside alcoholic beverages.

For your convenience, additional parking is available across the street at Cinco Ranch High School. If this event is anywhere near as popular as last year, this extra space will most certainly be needed!

2nd Annual July 4th Backyard Barbecue Schedule of Events:
5:00pm – 6:30pm – CNC Band performs in Heritage Square
6:30pm – 9:30pm – Outlaw Lynn and Who’s Drivin’ performs in Heritage Square
9:30pm – Fireworks spectacular by Texas Lite and Pyro of Houston

Annual July 4th Fireworks Display

It’s back! After having originally been cancelled due to lack of funds, the annual July 4th fireworks display at Katy Mills Mall is back on! This show is a family favorite among the citizens of Katy. The show is set to begin at dark and typically lasts until around 10:00pm. Admission is free and there is plenty of parking for everyone. My husband and I usually are able to catch this show from our backyard each year and it is truly spectacular! Don’t miss out.
