Are You a Moxie Mom?
A short two-years and eight-months ago, the Moxie Moms network in Katy, Texas, was launched with only a few memberships. Today, Moxie Moms celebrates its 500th mommy member in the Katy area: Krista Schroen!
Moxie Moms partners with more than 100 Katy-area businesses to offer pricing discounts that make motherhood a bit easier. In addition, Moxie Moms hosts mother and child-friendly events so that moms may meet and form friendships with other moms. “The group is diverse and growing by leaps-and-bounds,” says Kristi Wees, the area manager for Moxie Moms. “Our member base consists of Katy moms who work full-time, part-time, some who stay-at-home, and others who work from home. We even have a few grandmoms who care for their grandchildren during the day and enjoy the discounts, events and camaraderie with moms of all ages!”
Moms all over Katy join Moxie Moms for various reasons, but in today’s economy, saving money seems to be at the top of the list. When asked why she joined, Schroen, the 500th member, commented, “My son is getting to the age where I would like to enjoy more activities and classes with him. With the discounts offered to Moxie Moms members at Houston Swim Club, Gymboree and others, I can save some money and have fun.”
Moxie Moms LLC was founded by Susan Lavelle over five years ago in Boulder, Colorado, and has spread nationwide with chapters in many cities.
