West Houston Quilt Guild Presents: Threads of Time Quilt Show

Published on December 29, 2008 by Daphne Hager

QuiltThe 2009 West Houston Quilter’s Guild Quilt Show will be held at the Leonard E. Merrell Center on February 20-21.  Quilters from around the area will have the opportunity to view beautiful quilts, buy gifts from vendors, and enter in a raffle.  The show will feature the Guild’s donation quilt: Threads of Time.

“Threads of Time” is a beautiful hand appliquéd, embroidered and machine pieced quilt made from a multitude of brilliant cotton fabrics, some hand dyed, on a background of blue ombre that shades from royal blue through turquoise and green to light blue. The appliqué designs are taken from 17th and 18th century European tapestry and embroidery designs. The hand appliqué, embroidery and machine piecing was done by members of the West Houston Quilter’s Guild. It is custom machine quilted by Pam Klein. The quilt measures 70 X 70.
