Children’s Museum of Houston commemorates Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his legendary “I Have a Dream” speech with a MLK Day Peace Rally.  The Gardere Oratory Competition winner to recite speech.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dreamed for us to live in a world where we would “not be judged by the color of [our] skin, but by the content of [our] character.”  Take a trip to the Children’s Museum of Houston to honor civil rights leader, Martin Luther King, Jr., and his acclaimed “I Have a Dream Speech” that rocked the nation during the Civil Rights Movement in 1963.  Join our peace rally down Kid’s Hall and don’t forget about your own dreams!

Featuring the national day of service event of State Rep. Garnet Coleman introducing this year’s Gardere Martin Luther King, Jr. Oratorical Competition winner at noon followed by the Peace Rally Led by CMH Kid’s Committee. Join the Kid’s Committee in a peaceful march through the Museum to celebrate our freedom of speech.  After the rally Listen to the moving sounds of Young Harmonies of Houston:

On-going activities will include

* MLK Timeline:  Learn about the events which took place during Dr. King’s life to find inspiration in his accomplishments at Junktion.
* Dream Wall:  Dr. King had dreams, and we know you do too. Come to Junktion, write down your dream and share it with us on our Dream Wall.
* Family Seal:  Design a special symbol which represents the beliefs of you and your family at Junktion.
