June 23rd, 2008 saw the crowning of a new National American Miss Texas Teen at the Wyndham Hotel in Houston Texas. Grabbing the crown was Seven Lakes High School Senior Kelsea Faith Russo. She will be attending the National Pageant in Anaheim, California at Disneyland during the Thanksgiving week, representing the great state of Texas. Kelsea will also be vying for her share of over $500,000 in cash and prizes.
“Hard work and determination helped me reach my dream of becoming a state queen. I hope to be a role model for girls of all ages,” said Kelsea.
She is the daughter of Cindy and Tom Russo of Katy and has been competing in pageants for over 4 years. Kelsea is a national Honor Society student that enjoys volunteering at her church, attending sportig events, and having fun with her friends and her family.
National American Miss Pageants are for “Today’s Girl” and “Tomorrow’s Leaders.” The pageant program is based on inner beauty, as well as poise, presentation, and offers an “All American Spirit” of fun for family ad friends. Emphasis is placed on the importance of gaining self-confidence, learning new skills, learning good attitudes about competition, and setting and achieving personal goals. the pageant seeks to recognize the accomplishments of each girl while encouraging her to set goals for the future!
