The Fall Katy Home and Garden Show is coming to the Merrell Center on Saturday, September 6th from 10AM to 7PM and Sunday, September 7th from 11AM to 6PM.  Learn about new home and garden products and methods, meet local experts and residential service providers, and get answers to your home improvement questions. From the Kitchen and Bath Idea Center and Green Products Showcase to the Pet and Outdoor Pavilion and more than 250 exhibits, there will be plenty to do and see at the Fall Home and Garden Show.

Carter Oosterhouse, Green Expert and Host of HGTV’s “Carter Can” and “Red, Hot and Green”, takes the celebrity stage Saturday at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to share tips on ways to integrate green living into your daily life as well as chat about design that centers around using eco-friendly products in the home such as recycled materials or wood that has been harvested using sustainable methods.

Coffee with Carter

For a $30 ticket benefiting the Krause Children’s Center in Katy, you can participate in “Coffee with Carter”and enjoy Starbucks coffee and pastries with Carter Oosterhouse to kick off the show.

“We are extremely grateful that Carter is donating his time to help raise monies for children in need,” said Diane Covert, Krause Children’s Treatment Center. “Krause Children’s Treatment Center provides services to youth who suffer from severe emotional and behavioral problems in a secure, structured, safe environment. We would not be able to provide the level of quality care without the local community’s tremendous support.”

Tickets for “Coffee with Carter” are includes discounted admission to the Fall Katy Home & Garden Show. Seating for the exclusive meet and greet is limited. Directions:

The Merrell Center is located in the city of Katy, right behind Katy High School. The building faces I-10 and is easily accessible from all directions. There is NO charge for parking during this event.

From the East (Houston)

  • West on I-10
  • Exit Pin Oak Road
  • Stay on Feeder
  • Go through Pin Oak intersection
  • Stay left at fork (don’t go to Katy)
  • Go Right on FM 1463
  • Complex is one block down on left

From the West (Brookshire/Sealy)

  • East on I-10
  • Exit FM 1463
  • Go left on FM 1463
  • Complex is one block down on the left

Prepare for the Show:

Preparations begin with a comfortable pair of shoes, there are TWO Floors filled with things to see! Pack lightly, no heavy or bulky bags to carry around. Working on a home project?  Bring pictures, samples and sketches to show our exhibitors so they can offer suggestions.

Prepare a list of questions so you don’t forget anything once you start shopping.Have a specific look in mind?  Bring photos with you so that you can discuss with our exhibitors how to make it come to life!Take measurements and bring your blueprints with you.  This is a great opportunity to see many companies all under one roof.

Attend the seminars offered throughout the day.  These are a great source of information provided to you by people who are “In the Know”.Think about your project in advance and determine a budget so you can better discuss the details with our experts.

Talk to the exhibitors, ask them questions about their products and services.  You won’t learn about them if you don’t stop and talk.Be sure to circle those exhibitors that interest you so you can go back and see them one more time before heading home.

    I won the $250 (or was it $300..?) shopping spree to the Katy Home and Garden Show last year, it was awesome. I recommend everyone visit every year!
