Fox 26 ran a special report yesterday on Katy ISD fifth grade teachers who are integrating smart phones into their curriculum. The phones are issued to students with all of the communication, tasking and scheduling features of a typical smart phone, minus SMS messaging and calling functions. The effort is meant to add a stimulating element to the classroom experience to encourage learning and communication.
