Manta Ray Divers’ Underwater Treasure Hunt

Manta Ray Divers is hosting it’s annual Underwater Treasure Hunt July 26th at the Blue Lagoon in Huntsville. Prizes range from a $ 900.00 Cruise, $ 250.00 Wet Suit to $ 25.00 Firts-Aid Kit and T-Shirts, altogether over $ 2,000.00 in prizes. S.C.U.B.A. Diving is an 18-hour course offered by the Katy ISD Community Education Program designed to prepare the participant for certification by Independent Professional Scuba Instructors. The program is led by Philip Matticks, Certified Instructor, IPSI 23+ years.  Classes are held at the Taylor High School indoor pool.

For the past 21 years, Katy ISD has operated a community education program that has grown to include almost 3000 participants per semester.

The purpose of the Community Education is to provide the public with learning opportunities. These opportunities include Recreation, Arts and Crafts, Personal Safety, Self Defense, Enrichment, Business Skills, Finance, Computer Awareness, and Basic Education.
