Crosspoint Christmas

Holiday Movie Night at La Centerra

la-centerraOn December 18th, La Centerra will be host to a great Holiday Family Movie Night.  Get in the spirit under the stars watching “An All Dogs Christmas Carol” beginning at 6:30 pm.  Lawn chairs and blankets welcomed.

There will be a special visit from Santa and four-legged friends are invited to join in the fun.  Holiday pooch and people portraits with Santa by Holloman Studios will be available with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Special Pals.

Christmas Character Breakfast at Second Baptist West

Kids Crazy Christmas Show

kids-crazySecond Baptist’s West Campus is hosting a special presentation of the Christmas story for kids of all ages!  There will be dancing by the JUMP team and puppets who creatively tell the story of Christmas.  Following the performance, you can visit the cookie corner for a tasty treat.

The show will run on Friday, December 11th and Saturday, December 12th and then again on Friday, December 18th through Wednesday, December 23rd.  Weeknights at 5:30 and 6:30 pm and weekends at 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm.

Grand Lakes Presbyterian Church Advent & Christmas Worship Services

St. Peter’s United Methodist Church Advent and Christmas Events

st-peters-katySt. Peter’s UMC has a number of great holiday events to get you in the Spirit of Christmas.  From music to live performances to worship services, there is something for everyone!

The following events are free and all are welcome.

Sunday, December 6th: Scrooge will be presented by the St. Peter’s Youth Choir at 7:00 pm.

Sunday, December 13th: St. Peter’s Children’s Choir will perform Christmas Hang-up at 9:45 am.

Sunday, December 13th: St. Peter’s Children’s and Youth Ministries will host The Sights, Sounds and Smells of Christmas,  family festival open to all from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.

Sunday, December 13th: Handel’s Messiah will be offered by the St. Peter’s Chancel Choir as a community sing-along.  All are invited to come and joyfully celebrate the gift of the baby Jesus through this classical music masterpiece at 7:00 pm.

Tuesday, December 15th: A Taize Woship Service will be held at 7:00 pm.  This is a prayerful ad meditative service that provides a welcome respite from the hectic pace of the holiday, inviting a deeper spiritual connection with God in this holy season.

Sunday, December 20th: St. Peter’s Chancel Choir and Orchestra will perform Rutter’s Gloria, Vivaldi’s Gloria and a Christmas carol sing-along at 7:00 pm.  The concert will open with a Christmas presentation of the St. Peter’s Carillon Bell Choir.

Monday, December 21st: Night of Hope at 7:00 pm.  During this service of hope we acknowledge the loss, grief, and darkness in our lives, yetcelebrate together the coming of hope, joy, and light into our world through the birth of Jesus.

Thursday, December 24th: Celebrate the birth of Jesus at one of seven worship services.  A special service for families of young children is offeredat 3:00 pm.  Additional worship services at 5:00, 7:00, 9:00 and 11:00 pm, celebrate the birthof Jesus with carols, communion and candlelight.  An alternative  style of worship in a more casual setting will be offered at 5 and 7 pm in Lott Fellowship hall as well.

Cimmaron Elementary Hosts Breakfast with Santa

santaCimarron’s annual Breakfast with Santa is this Saturday, December 5th from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Kids can have their pictures taken with Santa and following, there will be a craft fair, book fair, and bake sale.

Breakfast will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, and the craft fair from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Cimarron Elementary is located at 1100 S Peek Rd. in Katy.

A Drive-Thru Life of Christ

On December 4th through 6th, anytime between 7:00 and 8:30 pm, you can check out this wonderful display.

River Bend Baptists is 5 minutes west of Grand Parkway, 3 minutes east of Fulshear at 27600 FM 1093.

Riverbend will also be having a Children’s Party December 20th from 9:oo – 11:15 am for grades K-5 and Christmas Eve Services at 5:00 and 6:30 pm.

KVPAC Presents Nightmare Before Christmas

kvpac-nightmareJust in time for the holidays, Katy Visual & Performing Arts Center is bringing a musical adaptation of the beloved Tim Burton tale, Nightmare Before Christmas.

Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king of Halloween Town, is bored with doing the same thing every year for Halloween. One day he stumbles into Christmas Town, and is so taken with the idea of Christmas that he tries to get the resident bats, ghouls, and goblins of Halloween town to help him put on Christmas instead of Halloween — but alas, they can’t get it quite right.

You won’t want to miss this great event on Friday, December 11th at 7:00 pm.  The performance is directed by Tamara Grisko and assitant directors Tira Burford and Adam Turner.

A Taffeta Christmas Musical at Lone Star College Cyfair

2009 Holiday Home Show in Houston Heights

houston-heights-christmasRecently described by Southern Living as “one of the most fascinating neighborhoods in the South’s biggest city,” the Heights will be the scene of the 2009 Houston Heights Holiday Home Tour on Friday, December 4, 6:00 pm – 9:00 p.m., and Saturday, December 5, 3:00 pm – 9:00 pm.

The tour will feature seven spectacular homes delightfully decorated for the holidays. Docents will be stationed at each home to point out the rich history, architectural features, furnishings, and decorations.

A special “holiday bundle” — 10 tickets for $150 — can be purchased online only until noon on December 3.

Individual advance tickets are $17 and can also be purchased online; they will be available soon at various Heights locations. Tickets purchased online can be picked up at the will-call booth at the Fire Station during the tour. Tickets purchased on the days of the tour will cost $20, or $5 for each home, and will be available at the Heights Fire Station at 107 W. 12th and Yale Streets, and at each home. Tickets will be available mid-November.

Three buses will operate during the tour on Friday and Saturday. Patrons may board the buses at stops located at each home and at the Fire Station.

Holiday Village Fair in Cinco Ranch
