Born and raised in Lima, Peru, Dr. Pezzia received his medical education from the Universidad Nacional de San Marcos in Lima. He moved to the United States in 1968 to serve his internship at Miriam Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. He then moved to Houston for his Residency and Fellowship in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine with special training in Pulmonary Disease and Cardiology. He was appointed Chief Resident in the last year of his Residency and he was an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine for a year before going into private practice.

Dr. Pezzia is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the AMA, TMA and Harris County Medical Society. He has held numerous professional leadership positions including Chairman of the Board of Spring Branch Medical Center, Medical Advisor to Columbia Corporation, Board of Heritage Physicians Network and Medical Director for Heritage Physician Network West IPA.

Dr. Pezzia has privileges at Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital, Christus St. Catherine Hospital, Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital and Spring Branch Medical Center.
