The two were apart for months before the Us confirmed their breakup in February. “They got to know each other on a deeper level and realized it didn’t work out, and they quietly parted things,” the insider said.
After the singer of the song “Complicated,” 38, was spotted out to dinner with Ty in Los Angeles last month, rumors that the twosome had called it quits on their relationship began to circulate. There was no third party involved in the I’m With You singer’s breakup from the 33-year-old 1970s musician, a source informed Us at the time, and the two are merely friends and nothing more.
While the insider said that Lavigne and the My Hippy singer broke up for real after months of dating back and forth, Mod Sun‘s representative told Us that the pair were engaged three days ago, when Mod went on tour, and that if anything has changed since then, it’s news to him.
The native of Minnesota who had proposed to Lavigne in March 2022 subsequently appeared to address the breakup on social media. He wrote in the caption of an Instagram image on February 28 that “in 1 week my entire life completely changed. I simply know that everything has a purpose. Even when it feels broken, I’ll keep my head high and pay attention to my heart.
