The 31-year-old actor, who usually keeps his personal life under wraps, uploaded a photo of himself holding hands with an unidentified woman who had a sparkler on her left hand.

Fans soon guessed that the photo, which he labelled “Roma Romance,” was an announcement of his engagement. Many of them wrote messages of congratulations, while others voiced their disappointment that Stanfield was no longer available.

Because of a now-deleted Instagram photo showing the Atlanta star holding hands with a woman who was wearing a diamond ring on her left hand, many of his followers mistakenly believed he was engaged.

Stanfield, who is 31 years old, captioned the sweet photo with “Roma romance,” referring to the black-and-white film Roma that the couple was about to watch on a laptop.

The “Sorry to Bother You” star posted a shot with his presumed girlfriend two days previously, in which he can be seen kissing the beauty on the neck as she takes a mirror selfie of the two of them.

His “Uncut Gems” fanbase quickly voiced their dismay at the news that Stanfield was supposedly unavailable. One fan posted, “I just flung my phone over the wall,” while another responded, “What is this ache in my chest!!”
