Sorry for Your Loss somehow turns the debilitating process of grief into a TV show

I had the same thought as many others when I first heard the idea of Sorry for Your Loss: how in the world is that enough for a TV show? A young widow named Leigh (Olsen) tries to live in the wake of her husband’s death. Yes, a movie. Undoubtedly a novel. I’m currently composing a play for the stage. A television program, though? a weekly one that will air again and again? No way is that going to work. I was incorrect.

The fact that Sorry for Your Loss recognizes that sorrow isn’t a tidy story with a beginning and an end is what makes it so great. Atomization is taking place. Your entire body feels as though a nuclear explosion has just occurred when an incidence occurs. But as time goes on, it fades away a little bit more and a little bit more. You’re capable of doing more, getting out of bed, and getting back to living.

However, the effects of what happened to remain with you eternally. Even if the components that are the most instantly lethal become less lethal with time, your body is now radioactive. Instead of learning how to overcome grief, you learn to live with it.
